Student FAQ'S

 

  • You can visit our home page at the college main website.
You may want to consider a MercerOnline course if you
  • Have access to a computer and reliable Internet access.
  • Work, family or other commitments prevent you from attending classes on campus.
  • Are highly self-motivated and work well independently.
  • Can budget your time effectively and meet deadlines.
You should not take a MercerOnline Course if you...
  • Don't have your own computer.
  • Have limited Internet access. Have never "surfed the Web."
  • Find it difficult to manage your time and work independently.
  • Blackboard Learn is a Learning Management System used by Mercer County Community College to enhance student-instructor and student-student communication by providing centralized access to online classes and class information. Students will be able to log on at any time, day or night, to complete course work.

  • Visit us in the Student Center (SC) building on the West Windsor campus, second floor room SC240 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Access Blackboard by logging into your MyMercer portal at https://www.mccc.edu/mymercer.shtml.
  • Login using your MyMercer Student Portal USERNAME and enter the PASSWORD you set (the same password used for your portal).
  • Your course will be available a few days before the official start date of the class.
  • Be sure to attend one of our Blackboard Information Sessions, either face-to-face or online. Information about our sessions, dates and times can be found at: http://www.mccc.edu/programs_tvc_orientation.shtml
  • If you're not able to attend any of our Blackboard Information Sessions dates, you can view a pre-recorded video by clicking on this link: Archived orientation video.
  • Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome are the recommended web browsers to use to access your online course.
  • Mac users can use Safari, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
  • Internet Explorer/ Edge is not compatible with Blackboard.

  • A reliable desktop or laptop computer.
  • Mobile devices can be used to view course material but we highly recommend you use a desktop or laptop to complete assignments.
  • You will need a high speed Internet connection in order to work online.
  • Web cam/microphone (internal or connected to your computer).
  • Attend one of our orientation sessions to view a demonstration.
