Registering for BenefitSolver

If you are a Mercer County Community College employee or new hire who is eligible for health benefits, you will need to register for the State of New Jersey BenefitSolver portal.  The portal enhances the way you have access to your health benefits. You can access the portal here:

http://mynjbenefitshub.nj.gov

Simply click register, and you will then be asked for your email address, social security number and date of birth.  Make sure you use dashes within your social security number and slashes for your date of birth. If you are already enrolled in health insurance as an employee, you will see your current coverage selection information.

New hires, you will need to enroll or waive the health benefit within this portal.  When enrolling, you will see a set of screens that will walk you through the enrollment process, step-by-step.  Make sure all of your personal information, elections, and dependents are accurate.

A few tips I’d like to offer:  if you are adding dependents, there is important documentation on your end to be uploaded by you.  Depending on the type of coverage you elect, you may need to upload a marriage document, your last tax statement with redacted amounts, and birth certificates.   Please make sure you follow the guidelines as listed for what is required for these documents.  For example, an affidavit of birth is not accepted—it must be THE birth certificate.

When your enrollment is complete and you’ve clicked approve and then “I agree” on the confirmation screen, I will verify all your uploaded documents before your dependent is finally approved.  Enrollment for new hires in the health plan occurs 60 days after your start date.  Allow at least 10 business days to receive your health and separate prescription cards in the US mail.  You can also print cards online.

Make sure you visit BenefitSolver anytime in the future to report a qualifying event, such as a marriage, birth/adoption, or to drop or add a dependent due to losing or gaining coverage elsewhere. You have 60 days to report such events.  Report a change of address, as well, right in the portal.  And finally, there is a wealth of information in BenefitSolver: information about your plan details, how to find a provider, and how to earn $250 at the end of the year for earning NJ WELL rewards.
