The Office of Career Services at Mercer County Community College...
- Offers local area employers a number of free services to help with employment needs.
- Gives employers access to a pool of qualified applicants.
- Provides MCCC students who have up-to-date knowledge and skills in many areas (see Programs of Study
(degree and certificate)
for more details). Many students also have prior work experience.
Internet Job Postings
Post your jobs on the Internet through our service provided exclusively to Mercer students
by the College Central Network (CCN).
Through this service, employers can list jobs
by completing a simple registration form. These
postings are available exclusively to MCCC students
and alumni, who can also post their resumes. To use
this service, you may register through the Career
Services office at 609-570-3399 or directly
on the Internet at College Central Network.
This method, yielding the widest audience and
distribution, is best suited for career opportunity
positions, especially if you are looking for recent
graduates and alumni. Also, alumni are less likely
to visit our office/campus and view the "hard copy"
postings described in the second alternative.

Campus-Wide Job Postings
Through this method, you would create a one-page "flier" which can be e-mailed as an attachment to
careers@mccc.edu, faxed to us at 609-570-3880 or mailed
to us at the West Windsor Campus at MCCC, PO Box 17202, Trenton, NJ 08690. Fliers will be posted
at the West Windsor
campuse. In selecting this method, we request that you follow these guidelines:
- Please specify job title, name of your organization, job duties, skills required, location,
hours, part-time or full-time, contact person, phone and fax numbers, e-mail address.
- Your listing will attract more attention if you use large fonts, boldface, include color or artwork
as well as list important information such as job duties, responsibilities, hourly wages and/or salary.
- Since current students (rather than alumni) are most likely to see postings on campus,
we suggest this method for part-time or seasonal employment.

Internships
Internship placements can link students in MCCC career and transfer programs
(see degree and certificate
Program listings) to career opportunities through practical, related work experience before they graduate;
and internships, in some cases, can qualify for academic credit. (Internships for credit are granted
by the applicable academic department, not Career Services.)
Company participation in these programs can help reduce recruiting and training costs as well as
provide a continuous source of candidates. Please contact Career Services staff (609-570-3399 or
careers@mccc.edu) for more information about these placements.
NOTE to "for profit" private sector employers who are not paying interns: The Fair Labor Standards Act has
set criteria to determine whether an internship is truly a training program or just another form of employment
and must be paid. Please see here.

Job Fairs
The college holds job fairs
during the fall and spring semesters, each tied to one or more career program.

On-Campus Recruiting
Arrangements for on-campus recruiting -- requiring at least two weeks advance notice --
are made through the Career Services office. The college provides table and chair setup
outside the Student Center cafeteria. Suggested hours are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
