INTRODUCTION TO WELDING: MIG, TIG, & Stick Welding Techniques

This 12-week, hands-on course provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of welding. Students will gain practical experience with a variety of welding methods and materials, making it ideal for beginners or those looking to build a strong foundation for further training or career advancement in the trades.  Receive credit for MET 232 (3 credits) based upon assessments. NICET Level II Highway Construction Inspection

Prepare for the NICET Level II Highway Construction Inspection certification exam with this comprehensive course designed for individuals building on foundational inspection knowledge and advancing their professional capabilities. Intended for candidates with two or more years of relevant, qualifying field experience, the course develops the technical knowledge and practical skills associated with intermediate-level highway construction inspection.

The curriculum covers seven specialized training areas: earthwork, asphalt and concrete pavements, concrete structures, drainage, utilities and incidental construction, and site layout and controls.

Practical instruction and real-world applications help participants strengthen their understanding of field inspection responsibilities, materials testing and acceptance criteria, construction methods, quality control, measurements and quantity calculations, survey data interpretation, work-zone traffic control, and compliance with project plans, specifications, and requirements. The course builds on Level I competencies and prepares participants for the NICET Level II certification exam and increased responsibilities in highway construction inspection.
