This course develops core technical knowledge and construction methods used in the building industry. Students study key materials - concrete, steel, wood, and masonry - and how they are used in construction. The course also covers blueprint reading and Building Information Modeling (BIM) for interpreting drawings and creating 3D models. In addition, students learn soil mechanics and sitework, including site layout, excavation, and foundation principles to support real-world construction planning and execution.

This course introduces students to the legal and financial aspects of the construction industry, supporting responsible project management. Students study construction law, including contracts, bidding regulations, lien laws, and contractor responsibilities. This course develops communication and leadership skills essential for construction management. Students learn to manage key project documentation, including Requests for information (RFIs), change orders, and daily progress reports, to support clear and organized communication throughout a project.
