New High-Tech, Health Care Programs to be Offered at MCCC

Three new degree programs will make their debut at Mercer during the 2014-15 academic year, with Fall registration now open for classes that begin August 23.

New programs in Public Health, Health Information Technology, and Security Systems Technology will be offered at MCCC for the 2014-15 academic year.



Elementary Students Aim for the Skies and MCCC's Aviation Program

Aspiring aviators at William A. Robinson Elementary School in Hamilton scraped the clouds with a barrage of homemade model rockets June 19 during "Rocketday," with the Mercer Aviation program as a special honoree.

Health Science Academy Seniors Are Ready for College

Nineteen seniors graduated in June as the first class of the Health Science Academy, a program developed by Mercer County Technical Schools in partnership with MCCC for students interested in careers in health care and science. Forty new students are set to enroll this September.

Vikings Hurler Heath Fillmyer Signs With Oakland Athletics

MCCC pitcher Heath Fillmyer will be able to hang on to his old workout clothes, as he will be trading the green and gold of Mercer for the green and gold of the Oakland Athletics after coming to contract terms with the team on June 30.


Mercer pitcher Heath Fillmyer was selected in the fifth round of the Major League Baseball draft by the Oakland Athletics.

Mercer Television Students Win National Award for Culinary Show

 

Mercer Television students won a Silver Telly award for their work on a program broadcast on the college's local access station, MCTV.

Dr. Eun-Woo Chang Appointed as VP for Academic Affairs

 

The Board of Trustees has approved the appointment of Dr. Eun-Woo Chang, Instructional Dean of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics at Montgomery College in Rockville, Md., as Mercer's next Vice President for Academic Affairs.
