Mr. Jason Evans – Program Coordinator / Associate Professor

Before teaching at the college, Professor Evans graduated with highest honors with an associate in applied science degree in automotive technology, Ford ASSET, from the Pennsylvania College of Technology. After finishing the Ford ASSET program, Professor Evans worked full-time at a Ford dealership where he earned Ford Senior Master Technician status by completing additional Ford factory training and achieving master technician certification and certification in advanced engine performance from Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

Professor Evans joined Mercer’s automotive program faculty in 2007 and finished his Bachelor of Science degree in Automotive Technology Management from the Pennsylvania College of Technology. Professor Evans’s automotive training continually builds through technical training from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Subaru of America. Professor Evans also holds a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Lehigh University.

Professor Evans’s focus in the classroom is ensuring that students not only develop their technical knowledge of automotive systems diagnosis and repair, but also develop good interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic that they can carry with them for a lifetime. Professor Evans believes in open lines of communication among parents, students, faculty, and staff, and that building positive student and teacher relationships improves student success.
