Jim’s journey began at Notre Dame High School, where he served as the co-captain of the Parochial A State Championship teams in both 1961 and 1962. Displaying an extraordinary talent on the field, Jim earned First Team All City and All County honors in 1961 and 1962, further establishing his reputation as an outstanding athlete.

Continuing his promising soccer career at Trenton Junior College, Jim led his team to victory as they clinched the National Junior College Championship in 1963. His remarkable contributions on the field earned him a spot on the First Team Junior College All American roster, cementing his status as a Mercer County soccer legend.

Jim’s achievements did not go unnoticed by the renowned publication, Sports Illustrated, as he was featured in their esteemed “Faces in the Crowd” segment in December 1963. This recognition served as a testament to his extraordinary talent and helped further legitimize the college.

Taking his abilities to the University of Maryland, Jim became a vital component of the ACC Championship teams in 1964 and 1965. As a starter, he showcased his tenacious mentality and played an integral role in the team’s success. Throughout his illustrious career, Jim has been honored with induction into several distinguished Hall of Fames, including the MCCC Soccer Hall of Fame, Notre Dame High School Hall of Fame, Mercer County Soccer Hall of Fame, and Mercer County CYO Basketball Hall of Fame.

Recognized as the City of Trenton Police Supervisor of the Year in 1992, Jim’s exceptional character and leadership extended to his professional endeavors.

From 1985 to 1991, Jim served as the Head Soccer Coach at St. Joseph’s Prep in Princeton, NJ. His passion for the sport and his dedication to guiding young athletes served as an inspiration to many, leaving an indelible impact on the lives of those he mentored.

Jim’s enduring MCCC legacy is that of leaving the game of soccer better than he found it.
