West Windsor, N.J. – Professional growth is well within reach at Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC) Center for Continuing Studies (CCS), which has announced upcoming information sessions for career and technical courses this fall.

The first sessions, focused on classes and certifications in the Allied Health industry, begin on Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. on the West Windsor Campus with Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA).

“CNA is a high-demand field that involves caring for patients in long-term facilities, assisted living and rehabilitation centers,” said Jigna Rao, Director of the Center for Continuing Studies. “Our course, which is approved by the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services, will prepare students to take the NJ State CNA exam.” Rao added that Licensed CNAs are eligible to take an additional 10-hour course to become CHHAs.

Additionally, CCS is offering sessions for its Medical Billing and Coding class, as well as its Phlebotomy and EKG course. The medical billing session is on Wednesday, Nov. 6, while the phlebotomy one is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 10. Both session start promptly at 6 p.m.

For prospective students interested in animal health, the Veterinary Assistance Certificate program’s information session will be held on Thursday Oct., 17 at 6 p.m. Approved by the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, this course will prepare students to serve as integral members of a veterinary team.

Beyond the health curricula, CCS is also offering information sessions for its Montessori Teachers Certification and the Clinical Development program, both of which will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m.

“It’s never too late to find a new found passion or kick start an overdue career change,” Rao said.

Information on these programs, as well as all of the Center for Continuing Studies’ offerings can be found at the CCS website. All sessions will be held at the West Windsor Campus, with the exception of Phlebotomy and EKG, which will be held at the James Kerney Campus.
