Module 1 – Your Module Topic and Alignment Document
  • Complete the Course Alignment Document.

TEAM COURSE
(Begin to) Create your Model Module
Log in to your Team Course, and within your Personal Folder, do the following tasks (TIP! Refer to the Model Module Planning worksheet that you completed during the hands-on session and see if you can add the content items into the module in the order that you will be teaching them!):
  • Within your Personal Folder (the one with your name on it), do the following:
    • Upload your completed Course Alignment Document to your Model Module. (HINT: Within your Model Module, click "Add Content", then select "File".)
    • Upload your Course Outline to your Model Module.
    • Create a Page which outlines module objectives.  (Use the text formatting tools available in the WYSIWYG editor to enhance the text.)
    • Using the "Add Content" tool, create a Link to an external resource that is relevant to the module you're creating.
    • Create a Discussion Forum.  Provide clear instructions for your students and outline your expectations.  Make sure your discussion topic is designed to foster student engagement. 
    • Create an Assignment Dropbox.  Provide clear instructions for your students and outline your expectations.

TEAM COURSE
Module 2 – Team Discussion Forum (Peer Feedback on Model Modules)
  • Visit the modules created by each of your peers within your Team course.
  • In this Team Discussion Forum, review the work of your peers.  Provide constructive feedback of at least one other person's work.  Some points you may wish to consider are:
    • Do the activities within the module address the Module Objectives?
    • Are discussion forum topics relevant to the topic?
    • Are discussion forum topics written in a way to foster student engagement?
    • Does the drop-box assignment align with the Module Objectives and provide a measurable outcome?

TEAM COURSE
The Online Learning Process: An Introduction to Best Practices and Quality Standards
  • (Will take about an hour) Visit VIC101, Week One, Online Lessons and Homework.   Complete the online lesson addressing An Introduction to Best Practices and Quality Standards.  In this lesson, complete the short assessment activities. During the process, you’ll be starting your notes on Best Practices. 
  • Also, in Week One, Online Lessons and Homework, complete the Voice-over PowerPoint on Orienting Our Students (make sure your speakers are turned on).

  • Complete the short games under Online Lessons and Homework within the VIC101 Course.

NOTE – FOR NEXT CLASS:

 

When you come to class next week, be sure to bring your flash drive with a file (course-related word-processed document) and, if you have one, a PowerPoint presentation that you want to put in your online module.  (For best results, the word-processed document should contain a good amount of text (at least one full page) and be relatively easy to "chunk".)
