It's 40+/- powerpoint slides that I have mounted on a site called Slideshare. It has all of the syllabus info, just not along the lines of the template the college uses. One of the reasons I use it is because the class is small, students have a tendency to come late, leave early and miss one or more of the 5 classes that the course runs. This way they can stay caught up without me having to meet for 1 hr and 50 minutes with each one of them that's missed something. Also, some students ask to have info available so they can go back and review it on their own so this meets that need as well. During the first class meeting, I send the students an email message with this link enclosed: http://www.slideshare.net/secret/5AvM3QabQgVKOG This should take you to the slides with my syllabus plus additional class information, notes, and sites where they can learn more outside of lecture and their textbook. Let me know if you have problems accessing Slideshare. You should not need a password to get to the powerpoint. Pam 2nd Email: Jill, et al, I am enclosing a copy of the Slideshare link to my powerpoint, with voiceover, for the virtual info lit portion of the virtual IST 101. This is a comprehensive info lit presentation that covers everything and anything that would be covered in a LIB 103 class. In fact, at the time that I worked on it, that was my goal: have something that any of the library staff could go to and pick out what he/she needed to add to an info lit presentation or to use in LIB 103, which only Martin, me and Mary McBride have taught in recent years. This link and the one I sent you with the syllabus for LIB 103 is all that you need if you want to discuss LIB 103 in your upcoming class. Keep in mind that we librarians work in tandem over here so Martin Crabtree is aware of both of these presentations, their content, and their availability for his use, and will already know about them when the online class starts because he added to the one for the link below and provided input for the LIB 103 syllabus that I sent you earlier.
