Hi

My name is Carol Weber, and I am going to be your online professor this semester for BUS230—International Business.  I am a full-time faculty member at the college in the Business and Technology Division.  I have been with mercer for 23 years.  In addition to teaching, I coordinate a project known as the International Business Practice Firm (IBPF).  You might have heard of the class, or perhaps even have been a participant.  Mercer coordinates 37 other colleges and high schools around the country that also offer the IBPF program.  My role in this capacity is to train and assist the other teachers in implementation of the program and to provide all of the support and materials for this simulated business environment.  Directing this program has allowed me to travel a bit internationally.  This has been an exciting opportunity for me to learn firsthand the business practices and cultures of several countries. In fact, during this fall 2009 semester, I will be attending a meeting in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. I hope to share my experiences there with all of you.

As for my education, I graduated from Trenton Central High in Trenton, New Jersey and received a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from Rider University.  My major was Business Education.  Yes, I have been a life-long resident of Mercer County.

In addition to my teaching at Mercer, I have taught at the high school and graduate-school levels.  I really enjoy teaching, and I am looking forward to teaching this course.  I hope to hear from all of you often, and maybe even meeting you sometime during the semester.  Have a good semester!
