“Meet the Authors” at MCCC April 30
West Windsor, N.J. – In celebration of Community College Month, Mercer County Community College (MCCC) presents “Meet the Authors,” an event for the public that showcases some Mercer-affiliated writers. The event takes place on Tuesday, April 30, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Communications Building, Room 110, on the West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
Featured authors include current faculty members Dr. Jo Anne Craig (“When Is It My Time to Cry”); Dr. Padhraig Higgins (“A Nation of Politicians”); and Charles Stansbury (“Three Crooked Roads”). Three professors emeriti will join the panel: James Franklin (“Inside Out: Fifty Years Behind the Walls of New Jersey’s Trenton State Prison”); Dr. Vera Goodkin (“In Sunshine and in Shadow”), Peter Horne (“Women in Law Enforcement”), as well as the Rev. William Coleman, a member of the Board of Trustees (“Rejuvenation of the Soul”).
Noting that the books range from scholarly works to novels and memoirs, Pamela Price, MCCC director of library services, says, “This is the first time we have turned the spotlight on some of the authors associated with our college. The event will help us showcase the diverse voices and literary talents that are a vibrant part of life at MCCC.”
Guests are invited to gather in the Communications Building lobby for light refreshments at 4 p.m. and then join the authors for a panel discussion of their books. The program will include a question-and-answer period, followed by book signings and purchases in the lobby.
