West Windsor,
NJ - MCTV, the cable channel of Mercer County Community College
(MCCC), will provide live, county-wide coverage of the 2010 Mercer
County High School Basketball Tournament Championships on Saturday,
February 27. The doubleheader, which takes place at the gymasium
on the college's West Windsor campus, will feature the girls' game
at 5:30 p.m. and the boys' game at 7 p.m. The games will be broadcast
on cable channel 26 and FiOS channel 20.
The entire television event will be produced by MCCC students enrolled
in the Television A.A.S degree program. Students will serve in all
capacities behind the scenes. Coverage will also feature Craig Coenen,
an MCCC faculty member, as the play-by-play announcer and former
MCCC coach Ben Stentz as in-game analyst. Studio segments will be
anchored by Jim Giglio, freshmen girls basketball coach at Steinert
High School.
This is the fifth consecutive year Mercer students have broadcast
the event on MCTV. Previous broadcasts have earned national awards
including a Silver Telly Award and Videographer Award of Distinction.
MCTV reaches an excess of 90,000 households in Mercer County, NJ.
Its programming includes original student work such as live news,
sports, culinary shows, community affairs, documentaries, musical
performances and theater events.
