West Windsor, N.J. - Gathering recently to present proceeds
from "Floyd Fest," a scholarship event to establish
the Jim and Fannie Floyd Scholarship Fund at Mercer County
Community College (MCCC), are, from left, event co-chair
Debby D'Arcangelo, honoree Jim Floyd, MCCC President Patricia
C. Donohue, and co-chair Hendricks Davis.
Held
at the Nassau Inn Oct. 17, "Floyd Fest" drew 180
guests and raised more than $35,000 for this newly endowed
scholarship, whose earnings will be awarded annually to
needy MCCC students. The planning committee included members
of the MCCC Foundation and Princeton community volunteers.
Jim Floyd has been a member of the college's Foundation
Board for more than 30 years. Along with his late wife Fannie,
Mr. Floyd has dedicated himself to improving the lives of
young people through education.
Given
the success of this year's event, plans are already underway
to host a second Floyd Fest fundraiser in October, 2011.
More information on donating to MCCC is available on the
Foundation webpage here
or by email at frangioa@mccc.edu.
