MCCC's James
Kerney Campus (JKC) invites prospective students of all ages to
learn more about the many credit and noncredit educational opportunities
available in downtown Trenton. The Kerney campus will host open
houses on Wednesday, Aug. 9 from 2 to 6 p.m., and Tuesday,
August 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for individuals interested
in earning an associate degree, a career certificate, or a high
school diploma, and for those seeking to increase their proficiency
in English. Mercer's James
Kerney Campus is located at 130 North Broad Street (near the
corner of North Broad and Academy Streets).
The open houses
will begin in the new JKC lobby, which was unveiled in July. Staff
members will be on hand to conduct tours and to help students with
immediate admission decisions, financial assistance information,
transcript review, academic and career counseling, and registration.
Guidance regarding placement testing will be available in the JKC
Testing Center during the event. In addition to information on credit
programs, JKC staff will answer questions about the college's GED,
GED online, GED bilingual, literacy, and ESL programs, along with
office training and culinary certificate programs.
The college
celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The newly-completed 2,000-square-foot
expansion at the James Kerney Campus includes a sloping, glass-walled
entrance, a 27-seat classroom, a security station, and a terrazzo
stairway.
Child care will
be available during the open houses. Refreshments will be served.
No registration is necessary. For more information, call (609) 570-3139.
