NJ Association of Public Accountants Makes Donation to MCCC Scholarships

WEST WINDSOR – For the third consecutive year, the New Jersey Association of Public Accountants (NJAPA) has made a contribution to student scholarships at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) following a successful tax preparer’s seminar hosted by The Conference Center at Mercer.

NJAPA President Charles Robinson said the organization came to The Conference Center three years ago when travel restrictions by the Internal Revenue Service and the state Division of Taxation made face-to-face seminars, held at locations throughout New Jersey, difficult. He said the central location and the state-of-the-art technology resources at The Conference Center made it an ideal location – and the quality of the food and dining facilities keep them coming back.

The annual NJAPA’s Tax Preparer’s Institute (TPI) now originates at MCCC, and broadcast to satellite facilities located on other college campuses throughout the state. While similar TPI seminars are held throughout the nation, the NJAPA program is unique in that all proceeds are donated to the scholarship funds of partner colleges and universities.

This year, the NJAPA donated $2,847 to the MCCC scholarship fund, up more than 20 percent over last year’s contribution. Since 2013, the NJAPA has donated nearly $6,500 to MCCC student scholarships.
