Establishing Proctoring Services
Each distance learning program has a process unique to their institution for remote proctoring services. First, clarify with your school what steps to take for remote testing arrangements. Generally, a proctor agreement is required between the distance school and remote testing office. The West Windsor Testing Center routinely arranges proctor agreements by e-mail at email@example.com, phone at 609-570-3295, or fax at 609-570-3872. All proctor agreements must be submitted to our office in advance of the test appointment.
Scheduling Your Test Date
Appointments for your proctored exam may be scheduled by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 609-570-3295. The best practice is to call a week prior to your expected test date to verify that your paper exam or online exam instructions have been received in our office, and them make your appointment at that time.
Receiving and Shipping of Exams
Routinely, paper exams are received electronically, but some paper tests are shipped to us through the mail or traceable courier and delivered to the Mailroom Office on campus. Please allow three to four business days for our office to receive your exam from the Mailroom. Shipping by traceable courier may be a requirement of the distance program school. You may arrange a courier by opening an account with a courier provider or shipping by courier through our office which requires an additional fee. (Some distance programs have courier arrangement provided in advance.)
Proctoring services will require a fee, payable to our Testing Center by check, money order, exact amount cash or you may pay the Bursar/Cashier Office with a credit or debit card during their business hours Monday through Thursday (no hours on Saturday for Bursar's Office for credit or debit payments).
Remote proctor sites can be located through the National College Testing Association if you are not in a position to test here at the West Windsor Testing Center (LB208 in the Library building, second floor). As a MercerOnline student you will need to arrange proctoring services at the remote proctor site and be prepared to follow their policies and procedures, including any testing fees. Our Testing Center requires a proctor agreement form to be completed by MercerOnline students and the remote proctor site in advance of the testing date. Proctored Exam Review
Some distance learning programs may permit students to review a graded exam in a proctored environment. Our office will proctor exam review sessions by appointment. Paper exam sessions require a fee of $25 and computer exam reviews require a $35 fee. The payment is due at the time of your appointment.
