MCCC Softball Players Earn Post-Season Honors

West Windsor, N.J. - Mercer County Community College (MCCC) softball players Delaney Misier and Morghan Fleisher, along with McKayla Krajcsovics and Haley Carter, have ended impressive 2021 seasons by being named to all-star teams.
Misier, a former standout at Steinert High School in Hamilton, was selected as the Pitcher of the Year in the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC); she also was named to the Region 19 Second Team. Misier, a freshman right-hander, posted a 12-4 record with a .211 Earned Run Average (ERA) and 129 strikeouts.
“Delaney is a very talented student athlete,” MCCC Softball Coach Ryan Zegarski said. “She earned a 4.0 GPA and is an All-Region pitcher. She is well liked by everyone on the team and our athletics staff.”
Fleisher, a Hightstown High graduate, was named First Team in Region 19 and the GSAC. A freshman infielder, Fleisher led the Vikings with 63 hits. She batted .477 and had five homeruns, 39 Runs Batted In (RBI) and scored 38 runs. She also had 10 doubles and four triples.
“Morghan is a very serious softball player and a very good hitter. She’s getting better defensively every day,” Zegarski said.
Krajcsovics, a freshman infielder from Monroe Township High School, was named to the First Team All-GSAC and Second Team Region 19. She hit at a .417 clip, and had seven homeruns, 38 RBI and scored 38 runs. Twelve of her 45 hits were doubles.
Carter, a freshman pitcher from Levittown, Pa., was named to the GSAC team. She posted a 12-3 record and a 2.89 ERA. She struck out 80 batters.
With a final record of 29 wins and 8 losses, Zegarski is more than satisfied with the Vikings’ season.
“The four players who received post-season honors set a tone that was both competitive and supportive. The entire team followed their lead,” Zegarski said. “Given the circumstances related to the pandemic shutdown, I congratulate the entire Vikings squad for remaining focused on building skills and winning games.”
