WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - Get ready for blood, guts, and belly laughs with “Evil Dead, the Musical,” Oct. 23 to Nov. 1 at the Kelsey Theatre on Mercer County Community College’s West Windsor Campus.
“Evil Dead, the Musical,” based on the cult horror films The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, and Army of Darkness, blends campy terror with killer comedy. Follow Ash and his friends to a haunted cabin where demons rise and the chainsaws roar. Packed with rockin’ songs, over-the-top gore and nonstop laughs, “Evil Dead, the Musical” is the ultimate date night for horror fans and thrill-seekers alike.
The show features a “splatter zone,” with special seating on stage, at a special price, that includes a free Evil Dead logo white t-shirt—perfect for getting bloody! In addition, audience members are invited to come in costume for the Oct. 31 performance, and attend an after-show Halloween party.
“Evil Dead, the Musical” was first staged as a workshop in Toronto in August 2003, and was presented in July 2004 at the 22nd Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. The New York off-Broadway production opened in November 2006 and ran until February 2007. The cast album debuted at #4 on the Billboard Show Charts.
The cast of “Evil Dead, the Musical” includes Dan Keyser of East Windsor, N.J.; Frank Ferrara of West Windsor, N.J.; Connor Riley of Collegeville, Pa.; Pat Rounds of Hamilton, N.J.; Maria Aromando of Bedminster, N.J.; Lizzie Axler of Doylestown, Pa.; Abigail Valerio of Robbinsville, N.J.; and Emma Tilley.
Dates and showtimes for “Evil Dead, the Musical” are Friday, Oct. 23 and Oct. 30 at 8 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 31 at 8 p.m., with a Halloween costume party after the show. In addition, matinee performances will be offered Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. All performances are at the Kelsey Theatre on Mercer County Community College’s West Windsor Campus.

Kelsey Theatre is located on the MCCC campus at 1200 Old Trenton Road in West Windsor Township. The theatre is wheelchair accessible, with free parking available next to the theatre. Assisted listening devices are available upon request.
