MCCC’s James Kerney Campus Gallery Kicks Off Third Thursdays’ Monthly Virtual Photo Presentations on Oct. 15 With Chrystofer Davis and Kevin Hoth

TRENTON —“Third Thursdays,” a monthly photography presentation offered through Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC’s) James Kerney Campus (JKC) Gallery, returns from the spring 2020 season with a new virtual photography gathering featuring Chrystofer Davis and Kevin Holt on October 15, 2020 from 7 till 8 p.m. The talk, hosted by Michael Chovan-Dalton, Director of the JKC Gallery, will take place on the Zoom conferencing platform. Registration is required. 

Professor Chovan-Dalton, the coordinator of the Photography and Digital Imaging program at MCCC said, “I am pleased to kick off our return to Third Thursdays with our moderators Heather Palacek and Habiyb Shu’Aib along with their guests Chrystofer Davis, an amazing street and portrait photographer from Newark, and the acclaimed multi-disciplinary artist, Kevin Hoth from Colorado.” Chovan-Dalton continued, “Hoth will give us a tour of his current solo show live from his gallery and Davis will present some of the recent work he has been making during the pandemic.” 

About the Artists

Chrystofer Davis is a Newark native and 11-year fine art photographer, teaching artist and filmmaker whose work is influenced by street/portrait photography and contemporary culture. He has worked, collaborated and showcased with world-renowned companies and celebrities, in addition to hosting seminars and lectures. These feats include Michelle Obama, New York Magazine, Leica Camera, Puma, Urban Outfitters, Daymond John of Shark Tank, MTV, Vogue Italia, Rutgers University, and B&H, to name a few.

Kevin Hoth is an artist working with photography, video and performance. His current work deals with perception and the manner in which multiple spaces can be formed into a singular frame. Kevin also works heavily with deconstructed instant film to explore themes of creation/destruction, truth as it is represented in photography, as well as beauty and transience.

Located at 137 North Broad Street, Trenton, New Jersey, Mercer County Community College’s JKC Gallery is a gallery for photography and lens-based work from internationally and regionally noted artists. During the fall and winter of 2020-2021, JKC Gallery will be running virtual shows through social media accounts and its website mccc.edu/JKCGallery. Gallery hours are active during shows.
