JazzOn2 Radio Celebrates Second Anniversary Sept. 1

West Windsor, N.J. -- Celebrating its second anniversary on Sept. 1, WWFM’s JazzOn2, one of the three radio formats broadcasting from Mercer County Community College (MCCC), will present a slice of the Trenton jazz experience as it airs programs throughout the day. Featured will be popular jazz hosts Alvyn Haywood, Joe Cataldo, Tom Tallitsch, Gail Dixon and Doris Spears. To cap off the celebration, Jazz On2 hosts will take listener calls live at the station from 6 to 8 p.m. (The call-in number is 1-888-232-1212.)

Anniversary-related events will extend through September, as JazzOn2 is scheduled to move to MCCC’s James Kerney Campus in downtown Trenton later in the month. “With the revitalization of Trenton, the timing is perfect,” said Winifred Howard, jazz program manager. “Jazz On2 not only serves as a voice for the local jazz scene but for what’s happening in Trenton, the surrounding area, and Cape May, where we also broadcast.”

From Sept 17-19, JazzOn2 will participate in the Trenton International Jazz & Blues Festival, a mile-long street and multi-venue event which will stretch from Joe’s Mill Hill Saloon to the New Jersey State Museum. The station will broadcast live from the Masonic Temple. “We encourage everyone to come out for a day of exciting music and activities,” said Howard.

Listeners may tune in to JazzOn2 in Mercer County and Cape May, N.J. on 89.1 FM HD 2, MCTV Channel 26, FIOS Channel 20, and online at www.jazzon2.org. For more information on the jazz and blues festival, go to www.tijbf.com.
