Felician College to Offer Bachelor of Science in Nursing 9-22-08 WEST WINDSOR, N.J. -- This month Mercer County Community College (MCCC) signed a new agreement with Felician College of Lodi, New Jersey, that will make it possible for nurses to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree right on MCCC’s campus. Beginning in January, Felician College will offer a fast-track RN to BSN program, which enables registered nurses to earn their BSN in only 19 months, by attending class just one day a week. The 60-credit program consists of 30 credits of nursing courses and 30 credits of liberal arts and science courses. According to MCCC Dean of Science and Health Professions, Linda Martin, the four-year BSN degree is often a requirement for advancement in today's job market. “We have been recommending to our students that they pursue their BSN, so we are pleased that we can now offer this important program on our campus,” she said. Because the Felician program requires applicants to hold
an RN license in New Jersey, students who hold a license from another
state will need to apply to the New Jersey State Board of Nursing for
endorsement prior to admission. MCCC's Nursing Program Home Page |
