Automation Technology Training to Assist Manufacturers


West Windsor, NJ:  Automation technology is a way for manufacturers to promote efficiency and a greener workplace. To assist their efforts, Mercer County Community College’s Center for Continuing Studies is offering a new program entitled “Introduction to Automation Using Programmable Logic Controllers.”

The innovative noncredit program is designed for electricians, industrial maintenance mechanics, automation technicians and energy management system operators. Basic knowledge of AC/DC circuits, digital electronics and industrial controls is required for enrollees. 

A mandatory information session is scheduled for Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. in the Conference Center at the West Windsor Campus. The class begins Oct. 8 and runs until Jan. 16. This cost is $2995 and includes tuition, books, materials, software and use of equipment. For those who are unemployed, tuition support may be available.
