James McCann Appointed Director of Mercer County Fire Academy


West Windsor, N.J. – James McCann of East Windsor has been appointed director of the Mercer County Fire Academy of Mercer County Community College (MCCC). 

McCann plans to further enhance the Academy’s current programs for students and local fire and emergency service organizations. “I feel honored to become a part of the MCCC family,” McCann said. “The Fire Academy will take a leading role in providing the training and education that is needed to fully prepare our students and first responders for all challenges.”

A firefighter since 1983, McCann is currently a member of East Windsor Vol. Fire Co. #1, serving as a Chief Fire Officer since 2005.  He is certified by the state of New Jersey as a Firefighter, EMT, Fire Instructor and Fire Inspector.  He also serves as a Deputy County Fire Coordinator for the Mercer County Office of Emergency Management.

McCann worked previously in advertising and marketing.  For the past 16 years he owned and operated a direct mail advertising company.

Active in his local community, McCann is a board member of the East Windsor Police Athletic League (PAL), serving as its Safety Officer for the past eight years.  He also coaches Little League baseball and softball.
