WEST WINDSOR, N.J. -- The Mercer County Community College Chorus and Jazz Band will present winter concerts this holiday season at Kelsey Theatre on the West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. Admission is free and open to the public.

With 30 student and community members this year, the college chorus will perform on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 8 p.m. Directed by Marjorie Herman, the program will feature pieces that celebrate holiday traditions from around the world. Two student conductors will lead the choir, and soloists from the group will perform holiday favorites.

The college Jazz Band will perform on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 8 p.m. Directed by Professor James Kelly, the band will present a varied and exciting program. Selections will include such jazz classics as Benny Golson's "Killer Joe" and Bart Howard's perennial favorite, "Fly Me to the Moon," as well as the Brazilian-flavored "Berimbau" by Baden Powell and Pat Metheney's haunting modern jazz waltz, "Question and Answer." All selections will feature standout improvisations by jazz students, who will be performing in small groups as well as with the full band.

The college invites the community to join with the faculty, staff and students for these celebrations. For more information, contact the MCCC Music Department at (609) 570-3735.
