JazzOn2 Moves to MCCC’s James Kerney Campus
West Windsor, NJ: Beginning the first week in November, WWFM’s JazzOn2, one of three radio formats broadcasting from Mercer County Community College, will begin a new chapter when it moves its operation to a new home at the college’s James Kerney campus at 102 North Broad Street in Trenton.
The move brings the digital channel, 89.1 HD2, into the heart of the capital city. “JazzOn2 serves not only as a voice for the local jazz scene but for what’s happening in Trenton, the surrounding area, and Cape May, where we also broadcast,” said Program Director Winifred Howard. “We hope to develop JazzOn2 as a central hub of information for news, entertainment and public affairs programs. This move is perfect timing as we wish to join revitalization efforts in Trenton."
New locally-produced programs include “Jazz Potpourri” on Sundays from 8 to 10 p.m., with different hosts each week including Gloria Krolak, “Good Vibes”; Doris Spears, “Jazz Á Trois”; Robert Bullington, “Jazz Discoveries”; Cynthia Mason-Matcho, “Jazz Odyssey”; and James Jarvie, “Boplicity.” Also added to the lineup are NPR’s “Latino USA” with Maria Hinojosa, and Pacifica Network’s “MyNDTALK” with Dr. Pamela Brewer.
Rounding out its broad spectrum of shows, JazzOn2 broadcasts NPR, Pacifica Network and JazzWorks syndicated programming. For a complete playlist, visit JazzOn2 online at www.jazzon2.org.
