MCCC Television Students to Broadcast Mercer County
High School Basketball Championships Live

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. -- On Wednesday, February 21, Mercer County Community College's Television program students will broadcast the Mercer County High School Basketball Championships live on MCTV-26. The girls' championship game begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys' game at 7 p.m.

The doubleheader will feature the play-by-play announcing of MCCC faculty member, Craig Coenen, and color commentary by Ben Stentz of Princeton Township Recreation Department. Overall, the entire broadcast crew is made up of student volunteers of the college's Television program.

Fans who cannot attend the games will be able to watch live on MCTV-26 in and around Mercer County. MCTV broadcasts on Cablevision, Comcast and Patriot Cable channel 26 and reaches a potential 88,000 households.

The broadcast is a service of Mercer County Community College and its television students, led by faculty members Barry Levy and Steve Voorhees. Last year, the broadcast was awarded a 2006 Silver Telly Award for outstanding live sports coverage.
