WEST WINDSOR, N.J. -- Have you been thinking about becoming a teacher? Do you already have a college degree? If so, you're invited to learn more about New Jersey's alternate route teaching program "New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey." Two upcoming information sessions, on Jan. 24 and Mar. 7 at 5:30 p.m., will take place at The Conference Center at Mercer County Community College, 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor, N.J.

The sessions will discuss how to qualify for entrance into the program, which requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum 2.75 GPA, a certificate of eligibility from the N.J. Department of Education, and a teaching position for September 2007.

The college's Center for Continuing Studies has administered the program since 2003, and 86 have graduated thus far. The program is offered in collaboration with New Jersey City University (NJCU), and students have the option of enrolling on a not-for-credit (certificate) basis, or a credit basis. NJCU will award 15 graduate credits toward one of their master's degrees.
