MCCC to Host Career Night for Medical Lab Technology

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. -- Mercer County Community College will host a Career Night on Jan. 17 for those interested in learning more about careers in medical laboratory technology. The event takes place at 5 p.m. in room 116 of the Math/Science building at the West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

According to program coordinator Jane O’Reilly, the college’s Medical Laboratory Technology Program is attractive to students who enjoy science and to adults who have a degree in science and are exploring new career options. Students who begin with the required background courses are able to complete the program in 14 months.

Mercer’s program graduates are eligible to become certified Medical Laboratory Technicians by successfully completing examinations given by the American Society for Clinical pathologists or the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel. Many are employed in hospital labs, physician’s offices, public health labs, pharmaceutical and research companies.
