MCCC Aviation Students Take First Place at Regional Competition
Three Earn Top-Scoring Award

WINDSOR, NJ: Mercer County Community College's Aviation Flight Technology
students took first place at the Intercollegiate Flying Association's
regional championship competitions in Schenectady, New York Oct.
20-23.
Pitting
their skills in the air and on the ground against four-year and
two-year colleges, Mercer's team was the overall winner, scoring
310 points to the second place team's 141 points. Evan Conley of
Langhorne, PA, and Sean Day of Burlington, NJ ranked number one
and two in the "Top Scoring Male Contestant" category,
while Tabatha Ialacci of Hamilton scored number one in the "Top
Scoring Female Contestant" category. Other trophies won by
the MCCC team included "Ground Events Team Champion,"
"Flying Events Team Champion," and the "Regional
Championship Safety Award."
Mercer's
Aviation Flight Technology program attracts students from throughout
the state and region. The college owns a fleet of airplanes housed
at the Trenton-Mercer Airport.
