Intern
We are a Essex County Funeral Home currently interviewing for an intern who is serious about their funeral service career, near graduation and ready to take the National Board of Funeral Service Exam.
We require our interns to be available at least 25 hours a week.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Removals – both from healthcare facilities and private homes.
  • Transportation of deceased to/from any of the 3 locations.
  • Supervised prep-room assistance (i.e. casketing for cremation, filling urns, moving deceased, dressing, casketing.).
  • Viewing preparation and facilitation (i.e. floral setup, light cleaning, door coverage).
  • Door assistance - greeting families and guests.
  • Funeral service assistance (i.e. pallbearer, driver, family assistance).
  • Light-facility maintenance (i.e. light snow removal, keeping the grounds free of debris, etc...).
  • Computer literacy is also required. [All programs are easy to learn with basic computer knowledge.]
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Some on-call at nights.
