ADVANCED IMAGING PROGRAM (CT & MR)

ENROLLMENT

  Mercer County Community College Center for Continuing Studies in cooperation with the Radiography Department is offering advanced imaging education and training in Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR).  The ASRT approved didactic course hours and allotted clinical experiences are designed to prepare certified radiologic technologists for the ARRT credentialing exams in CT or MR.  Continuing education credits for the programs are approved for a total of 46.75 CEUs for CT and 50.25 CEUs for MR. Resubmission of documentation to the ASRT is pending with the final CEU award to be determined in advance of the program offerings fall 2021. 

Deadline to submit application for review and approval in MR or CT course is August 15, 2021.  

All applications must be submitted to Andrea Bash, Program Coordinator, Center for Continuing Studies via email basha@mccc.edu . Applications are accepted and reviewed on a first come first serve basis for this program. Program enrollment size is limited.

Magnetic Resonance (MR) 

Prerequisite Requirements: Prospective interns must hold current ARRT primary certification in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, or Sonography.

Didactic: This course is offered on Saturdays September – December for a total of 42 hours, 48 hours for those enrolled in Option 1.   Classroom learning includes lectures, instructional videos and other instructional formats.  

Clinical: Students must complete all repetitions as required by the ARRT to be eligible for the credentialing exam. Students will have a six-month period in order to complete the required repetitions (September 2021 – April 2022). Interns must commit to a total of 16 hours per week for clinical education; assignments will be made based upon clinical site and intern availability. Clinical education is available during the day, evening, and Saturday hours. Textbooks and other fees are not included in cost.

Option 1: NCHCP-CS094-01 / 4.8 CEU MCCC/ cost: $4,000 (Didactic and Clinical Components included)  

Option 2: NCHCP-CS078-01 / 4.2 CEU MCCC/ cost: $2,500 (Didactic only)

 


Computed Tomography (CT)  

Prerequisite Requirements: Prospective interns must hold current ARRT primary certification in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, or Sonography, and a current NJ Diagnostic Radiography license 

Didactic: This course is offered on Saturdays September – December for a total of 42 hours, 48 hours for those enrolled in Option 1.   Classroom learning includes lectures, instructional videos and other instructional formats.  

Clinical: Students must complete all repetitions as required by the ARRT to be eligible for the credentialing exam. Students will have a five-month period complete the required repetitions (September 2021 – March 2022). Interns must commit to a total of 16 hours per week for clinical education; assignments will be made based upon clinical site and intern availability. Clinical education is available during the day, evening, and Saturday hours.  Textbooks and other fees are not included in cost.

Option1: NCHCP-CS095-01 / 4.8 CEU MCCC/ cost: $4,000 (Didactic and Clinical Components included) 

Option 2: NCHCP-CS080-01 / 4.2 CEU MCCC/ cost: $2,500 (Didactic only)
