LAT 101 - Beginning Latin I The first in a sequence of courses designed for students with little or no prior knowledge of Latin. Reading comprehension of literary and scholarly texts in Latin being the end goal, emphasizes the communicative skills of reading and writing based on culturally authentic texts. Grammar is thoroughly introduced and analyzed. Some spoken communication in Latin is practiced.

LAT 102 - Beginning Latin II Prerequisite: LAT 101 with a minimum C grade or permission of instructor
The second in a sequence of courses designed for students with little or no prior knowledge of Latin. Reading comprehension of literary and scholarly texts in Latin being the end goal, emphasizes the communicative skills of reading and writing based on culturally authentic texts. Grammar is thoroughly introduced and analyzed. Some spoken communication in Latin is practiced.

LAT 201 - Intermediate Latin I Prerequisite: LAT 102 with a minimum C grade or permission of instructor
Designed for students with a mid to high novice level of reading competency in classical Latin. Reading comprehension of literary and scholarly texts in Latin continues to be the end goal. With Latin being the language of instruction for at least half of class time, some conversation is practiced.
