Newtown, PA-Mercer softball (32-15) beat Bucks CCC 15-0 in five innings in Game 1 of their doubleheader. Sophomore Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) went 2 for 4 with a home run, double and 4 RBIs and sophomore Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) was 2 for 3 with a home run, double and 3 RBIs. Freshman Izzy Bonacci (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBIs and sophomore Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs.
Sophomore pitcher Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) had eight strikeouts and allowed no earned runs over five innings in her 13th win of the season. Freshman Kelci O’Dell (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) went 4 for 5 with an RBI and 3 runs and freshman Emily Wyzykowski (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) was 3 for 4 with an RBI. Freshman Angelina Guida (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Twp.) added 2 RBIs in the win.
