Vineland, NJ-Mercer softball beat RCSJ Cumberland (4-12) 13-5 in six innings in Game 2 of their doubleheader. Freshman Natalie Santiago (Ewing, NJ/Ewing HS) went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs, 3 runs and a triple and freshman Izzy Bonacci (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) was 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs, 2 runs and a home run. Freshman Emily Wyzykowski (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) went 3 for 5 with two doubles and two RBIs and sophomore Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) added 2 RBIs.
Freshman Kelci O’Dell (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) had two hits and an RBI and sophomore Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS went 2 for 4 with a double in the win. Freshman pitcher Jessica Adams (Levittown, PA/Harry S Truman) allowed just one earned run in four innings in her sixth win of the season.
The Vikings next travel to Lehigh Carbon (2-12) for a 3:00 PM doubleheader on Tuesday, April 16th.
