West Windsor, NJ-Mercer softball (22-5) beat County College of Morris (7-6) 20-0 in five innings in Game 1 of their doubleheader. Freshman Ada Kaschl (Brussels, Belgium) went 3 for 4 with a double, triple and 5 RBIs and freshman Kelci O’Dell (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington) was 2 for 3 with a home run and 4 RBIs. Sophomore Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) had a home run and 2 RBIs and freshman Angelina Guida (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Twp.) went 2 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBIs.
Freshman pitcher Izzy Bonacci (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) struck out ten in five innings for her eighth win of the season. Sophomore Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) went 3 for 4 with an RBI and sophomore Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) was 2 for 2 with a home run. Freshman Makenna Spak (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) added an RBI and freshman Emily Wyzykowski (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) had two hits in the Game 1 win.
