North East, MD-Mercer (18-2) bounced back from their Game 1 loss to win Game 2 at Cecil (14-8) 21-8. Sophomore Stella Logan (Trenton, NJ/Allentown HS) went 3 for 6 with 4 runs, 4 RBIs and 2 triples and freshman Karisa Krawiec (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) was 3 for 6 with 3 runs and 3 RBIs. Freshman Bella Cornish-Didonato (Titusville, NJ/Hopewell Valley) went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs, 3 runs and 2 doubles and sophomore Jozalyn Sheipe-Warthen (Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley) added 2 RBIs in the win.
Sophomore Arianna Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) had a double, 3 runs and 2 RBIs and freshman Priscilla Guthrie (Macomb, MI/Lutheran North) went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs. Freshmen Jamie Kozarski (Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddon Township) and Ammonie Wertz (Ewing, NJ/Mercer County Tech) each had an RBI in the win.
Freshman Ashlee Haywood (Ewing, NJ/Council Rock North) picked up the win to move to 10-0 on the season and also had an RBI.
Mercer next travels to Northampton (8-0) for a 3:30 PM doubleheader on Thursday, April 2nd.
