West Windsor, NJ-Mercer softball (11-4) bear Raritan Valley (0-3) 16-0 in five innings in Game 1 of their doubleheader. Sophomore Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) went 3 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI. Freshman Emily Wyzykowski (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) went 2 for 2 with a double, 2 runs and 3 RBIs and sophomore Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) had a double and 3 RBIs. Sophomore Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) and freshman Angelina Guida (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) each went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBIs.
Freshman pitcher Izzy Bonacci (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) allowed just one hit and struck out seven in three innings and freshman pitcher Jessica Adams (Levittown, PA/Harry S Truman) allowed no hits and struck out five in two innings of relief.
Freshmen Ada Kaschl (Brussels, Belgium/European School of Brussels III), Natalie Santiago (Ewing, NJ/Ewing HS) and Makenna Spak (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) each added an RBI in the Game 1 win.
