West Windsor, NJ-Mercer softball moved to 13-0 with a 16-0 win vs Sussex in Game 1 of their doubleheader. Sophomore Stella Logan (Trenton, NJ/Allentown HS) went 3 for 3 with two doubles, a home run and 5 RBIs. Freshman Karisa Krawiec (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) went 2 for 2 with a home run and 3 RBIs and sophomore Arianna Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) was 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBIs.
Freshman Bella Cornish-Didonato (Titusville, NJ/Hopewell Valley) had an RBI and freshman Ammonie Wertz (Ewing, NJ/Mercer County Tech) went 2 for 4 with two runs in the win.
Sophomore pitcher Jozalyn Sheipe-Warthen (Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley) struck out nine in four innings and allowed just one hit in the shutout to move to 7-0 on the season.
