Mercer Takes Both Games of Doubleheader vs Brookdale

4/20/23

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer softball (27-6) won Game 1 of their doubleheader vs #3 ranked (NJCAA Division III Softball) Brookdale 8-2. Sophomore Heather Kerlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 3 with an RBI and sophomore Hailey Nardone (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) was 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs.  Sophomore Mia Land (Hamilton, NJ/Trenton Catholic Academy) went 2 for 4 with a double, 2 runs and RBI and sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) added an RBI in the win.  Freshman pitcher Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) had 4 strikeouts in 5 innings and picked up her 13th win of the season.  Sophomore Delaney Misier (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) threw two hitless and scoreless innings of relief to preserve the win for the Vikings.

 

Mercer (28-6) beat Brookdale 12-4 in 5 innings in Game 2 of their doubleheader to move to 28-6 on the season.  Sophomore Lillian Torres-Perez (South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick HS) was3 for 3 with a double, RBI and 2 runs and sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) also went 3 for 3 with an RBI and 2 runs.  Freshman Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) had 2 RBIs and sophomore Mia Land (Hamilton, NJ/Trenton Catholic Academy) went 1 for 2 with 2 runs and an RBI.  Sophomore Julia Hannawacker (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) was 2 for 3 with an RBI and sophomores Heather Kerlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Hailey Nardone (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) each had an RBI in the win.  Freshmen Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) and Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) each added an RBI in the win.  Sophomore pitcher Gianna DeMatteo (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt HS) got her 11th win of the season.

Mercer Splits Doubleheader vs Monroe

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer softball (22-6) lost Game 1 of their doubleheader vs Monroe 6-7.  Freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) went 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBIs and sophomore Bella Truelove was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 RBIs.  Sophomore Heather Kerlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 3 with 2 runs and sophomore Julia Hannawacker (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had 2 hits and an RBI in the loss.

 

Mercer (23-6) won Game 2 of their doubleheader vs Monroe 7-5.  Sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had a home run and 2 RBIs and sophomore Lillian Torres-Perez (South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick HS) went 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs.  Freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) was 2 for 4 with an RBI and freshman Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) had a double and RBI in the win.  Sophomore pitcher Gianna DeMatteo (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt HS) got her ninth win of the season.

Mercer Routs Bucks in Doubleheader for 22nd and 23rd Wins of Season

West Windsor, NJ- (23-5) beat Bucks 17-1 in 5 innings Game 1 of their doubleheader.  Freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) went for 2 for 3 with a home run and 5 RBIs and freshman Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) went 2 for 2 with a triple and 2 RBIs.  Sophomore Julia Hannawacker (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had 2 RBIs and freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) went 2 for 3 with a double and RBI.  Sophomores Heather Kerlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Hailey Nardone (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) each added an RBI in the win.

Mercer Gets Two Big Region Wins in Doubleheader at Morris

Randolph, NJ-Mercer softball (23-5) got two big Region wins at Morris.  The Vikings won Game 1, 4-2.  Freshman pitcher Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) struck out 6 batters and got her 11th win of the season.  Freshmen Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) and Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) each had a double and RBI and sophomore Julia Hannawacker (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) added an RBI in the win.

 

Mercer won Game 2 of their doubleheader at Morris 6-3.  Sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 4 with a home run and 4 RBIs and sophomore Lillian Torres-Perez (South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick HS) had a home run and RBI.  Freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) went 3 for 4 with 2 runs and sophomore Julia Hannawacker (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 4 in the win.  Sophomore pitcher Gianna DeMatteo (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt HS) had 4 strikeouts in 6 innings and earned her 9th win of the season.

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer softball (21-4) won Game 1 of their doubleheader vs Lackawanna.  Freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) went 2 for 3 with a home run and 3 RBIs and freshman Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) was 1 for 2 with an RBI.  Freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) went 2 for 3 with 2 runs.  Freshman pitcher Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) struck out 5 in 7 innings for her 10th win of the season.

 

Mercer (21-5) lost Game 2 of their doubleheader vs Lackawanna 9-10.  Sophomore Hailey Nardone (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 3 with a home run and 3 RBIs and sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had a home run and 2 RBIs.  Sophomore Heather Kerlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) added 2 RBIs and sophomore Lillian Torres-Perez (South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick HS) went 2 for 4 in the loss.  Sophomore pitcher Gianna DeMateo (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt HS) threw two scoreless innings of relief in the loss.

Mercer Splits Doubleheader at Harford, 15 Game Winning Streak Snapped

Bel Air, MD-Mercer softball (19-4) had their 15 game winning streak snapped following a 0-1 loss at Harford in Game 1 of their doubleheader.  Sophomores Julia Hannawacker (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Heather Kerlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) each went 2 for 3 in the loss. 

 

Mercer (20-4) bounced back from their Game 1 loss to beat Harford 9-0.  Sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBIs and freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) was 2 for 4 with a double, home run and 2 RBIs.  Sophomore Hailey Nardone (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and sophomore Lillian Torres-Perez (South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick HS) was 2 for 4 with a double and RBI.  Sophomore Heather Kerlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) was 3 for 4 and sophomore Julia Hannawacker (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Sophomore Mia Land (Hamilton, NJ/Trenton Catholic Academy) added an RBI in the win and freshman pitcher Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) tossed 7 scoreless innings while giving up just 2 hits for her 10th win of the season.

Mercer Softball Wins 14th and 15th Straight in Doubleheader vs RCSJ Cumberland

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer softball (18-3) got their 14th straight win, beating RCSJ Cumberland 9-3 in Game 1 of their doubleheader.  Sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 4 with a home run and 3 RBIs and freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBIs.  Freshman Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 RBIs. Mercer Softball Shuts Out Monroe in Doubleheader for 12th and 13th Straight Wins

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer softball got their 12th and 13th straight wins in a doubleheader vs Monroe.  In Game 1, the Vikings (16-3) beat Monroe 15-0 in 5 innings.  Freshman pitcher Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) had 11 strikeouts and threw a one hit shutout in her 8th win of the season.  Freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) had a grand slam and 4 RBIs and sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs.  Freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) was 2 for 3 with a triple and RBI and sophomore Mia Land (Hamilton, NJ/Trenton Catholic Academy) went 1 for 2 with an RBI and 3 runs.  Sophomore Hailey Nardone (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and freshman Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) each added an RBI in the win.

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer softball (12-3) won Game 1 of their doubleheader vs Orange 10-2 in 5 innings.  Sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs and freshman Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown) had a double and 2 RBIs.  Sophomore Lillian Torres-Perez (South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick) added a double and RBI and freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) went 2 for 3 with 2 runs.  Freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) had an RBI and 3 runs in the win.  Freshman pitcher Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) struck out 9 in 4 innings and earned her 7th win of the season.

 

Mercer softball (13-3) took Game 2 of their double vs Orange 12-2 in 5 innings.  Sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had a home run and 3 RBIs and sophomore Lillian Torres-Perez (South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick) had a double, 2 RBIs and 2 runs.  Freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) had 2 RBIs and 2 runs and freshman Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) went 1 for 2 with an RBI.  Sophomore Heather Kerlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 1 for 1 with an RBI.  Sophomore pitcher Gianna DeMatteo (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt HS) picked up her 5th win of the season, giving up 0 earned runs in 5 innings.

Mercer Gets 6th and 7th Straight Wins in Doubleheader vs Northampton

West Windsor, NJ-In Game 1 of their doubleheader, Mercer softball (10-3) edged Northampton 4-3 for their sixth straight win.  Sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had 2 home runs and 2 RBIs and sophomore Hailey Nardone (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) added an RBI in the win.  Freshman pitcher Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) struck out 10 in 5 innings and allowed 0 earned runs to pick up her sixth win of the season.  Sophomore Delaney Misier (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) got her fourth save of the season in 2 scoreless innings of relief.

 

Mercer softball (11-3) picked up their seventh straight win, beating Northampton 8-3 in Game 2 of their doubleheader.  Sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBIs. Freshman Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) went 2 for 4 with 3 runs and an RBI.  Freshmen Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) and Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) each had an RBI in the win.

West Windsor, NJ-Mercer softball (8-3) beat Anne Arundel 4-2 in Game 1 of their doubleheader.  Sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had a home run and 3 RBIs and sophomore Delaney Misier (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) added an RBI in the win.  Freshman pitcher Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) allowed 0 earned runs and struck out 7 in 5 2/3 innings to pick up her fifth win of the season.  Misier struck out 2 in 1 2/3 innings to earn her second save of the season.

 

In Game 2 of their doubleheader, the Vikings (9-3) beat Anne Arundel 7-4.  Sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 3 for 3 with a double, home run and 3 RBIs.  Freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) had a home run and 2 RBIs and sophomore Julia Hannawacker (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had a double, RBI and 2 runs.  Sophomore Lillian Torres-Perez (South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick HS) and freshman Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) each had an RBI in the win.

Mercer Ends Myrtle Beach Trip with 4-3 Win over Prairie State

Myrtle Beach, SC-Mercer softball (7-3) ended their trip to Myrtle Beach with a 4-3 win over Prairie State College (IL).  Sophomore Julia Hannawacker (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs and freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Sophomore Heather Kerlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had an RBI and freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) had a double and run scored in the win.  Freshman Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) picked up her fourth win of the season, striking out 6 in 4 innings.

Mercer Shuts Out Highland in 8-0 Win

Myrtle Beach, SC-In their third game of the day, Mercer softball (6-3) beat Highland Community College (IL) 8-0 IN 5 innings.  Freshman pitcher Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) tossed a 1 hit shutout and struck out 6 in her third win of the season.  Freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) had a home run and 4 RBIs and freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) went 2 for 2 with a triple, 2 RBIs and 2 runs.  Sophomore Hailey Nardone (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had a home run and 2 RBIs.  Freshman Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) went 2 for 2 and sophomore Heather Kerlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) was 1 for 1 with 2 runs in the win.

 

 

Mercer Beats Herkimer 19-7 to Get Back in Win Column

Myrtle Beach, SC-Mercer softball (5-3) got back in the win column with a 19-7 win over Herkimer.  The Vikings scored 6 runs in the 7 inning to open up the big win.  Sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and 2 runs and freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) had a home run, 3 RBIs and scored 4 runs.  Freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) had 2 doubles and 2 RBIs and sophomore Heather Kerlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert)  had 2 hits and 2 RBIs in the win.  Sophomore Hailey Nardone (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 runs and sophomore Mia Land (Hamilton, NJ/Trenton Catholic Academy) added an RBI in the win. 

 

Mercer Drops Second Straight with 8-14 Loss vs North Central Missouri College

Myrtle Beach, SC-Mercer softball (4-2) fell to Herkimer (NY) 4-5.  Herkimer is ranked 4th in NJCAA Division III softball.  Sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 3 for 4 with runs and freshman Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) was 2 for 4 with an RBI.  Freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) went 1 for 2 with a run and freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) had a hit, run and 2 stolen bases in the loss.  Sophomore pitcher Delaney Misier (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) struck out 8 and allowed just 1 run in 5 innings.

 

Mercer Rallies to Beat CCRI 10-8

Myrtle Beach, SC-Mercer softball (4-1) picked up their fourth win of the season, beating Community College of Rhode Island 10-8. The Vikings scored 4 runs in the last two innings to secure the win. Freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) went 3 for 5 with 3 doubles and 2 runs and sophomore Julia Hannawacker (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs.  Freshman Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) also had a big day at the plate, going 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs.  Sophomores Heather Kerlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert), Mia Land (Hamilton, NJ/Trenton Catholic Academy) and Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) each had an RBI in the win.

Myrtle Beach, SC-Mercer softball (3-1) got their second win of the day with a 14-3 win over University of Rio Grande JV (OH) in 5 innings.  Sophomore Mia Land (Hamilton, NJ/Trenton Catholic Academy) went 3 for 3 with a double, RBI and 3 runs and sophomore Lillian Torres-Perez (South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick HS) had a home run with 4 RBIs.  Freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) was 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBIs and sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) had 3 RBIs and 2 runs in the win.  Sophomore Hailey Nardone (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) went 2 for 2 with a triple and RBI and freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) had a triple, RBI and scored 2 runs.  Sophomore Heather Kerlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) added an RBI and sophomore pitcher Gianna DeMateo (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt HS) got her first win of the season.

Myrtle Beach, SC-Mercer softball (2-1) won their first game at the Fast Pitch Dreams Classic 7-3 over Lakeland CC (OH).  Freshman Maya Patel (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) went 3 for 4 with an RBI and 2 runs and sophomore Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 runs.  Sophomores Hailey Nardone (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Lillian Torres-Perez (South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick HS) and freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) each added an RBI in the win.  Freshman Shea Krebs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville HS) got her first collegiate win striking out 10 in 5 innings.  Sophomore Delaney Misier (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) picked up the save striking out 4 in 2 innings.

 

Mercer Softball Splits Season Opener at RCSJ Gloucester

Sewell, NJ-Mercer softball (1-0) won their opening game of a doubleheader at RCSJ Gloucester (0-1) 7-5.  The Vikings scored 4 runs in the 7th inning to get the win.  Freshman Abby Bell (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown HS) went 2 for 4 with a home run and 3 RBIs. Sophomores Hailey Nardone (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) each went 2 for 4 with a double and RBI.  Sophomore Mia Land (Hamilton, NJ/Trenton Catholic Academy) was 3 for 5 with a triple and freshman Cierra Acevedo (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West) had 2 hits in the win.  Sophomore pitcher Delaney Misier (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) got the win in 3 innings of relief, striking out 2 batters and allowing just one run.
