Myrtle Beach, SC-Mercer baseball (9-2) beat Elgin CC (4-7) 5-2 in Game 1 of their doubleheader. Sophomore Shaniel Maldonado (Trenton, NJ/St. Benedict’s) was 3 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI and freshman Jimmy Musser (Chesterfield, NJ/Northern Burlington) had a home run an RBI. Sophomore Kevin Stewart (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) added an RBI in the win.
Freshman pitcher Dominick Terranova (East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown) struck out five in seven innings for his second win of the season.
