Mercer Announces Fall Softball Schedule

The MCCC fall softball schedule will feature five games for the Vikings, including two home doubleheaders.  The fall season opens with a doubleheader at RCSJ-Gloucester on September 16 th.  RCSJ-Gloucester reached the NJCAA Division III World Series in the spring and was ranked third in NJCAA Division III softball rankings heading into the World Series.

The Vikings will host two doubleheaders.  The first home doubleheader is on September 23 rd vs Top Gun. Top Gun is a fastpitch organization competing in many showcases including against colleges.  Incoming freshman Angelina Guida (Monroe Township, NJ/Monroe Township HS) was a member of Top Gun’s U-18 team.  The second home doubleheader of the fall is against NCAA Division II Holy Family University on September 30 th

The fall season will wrap up with two road doubleheaders.  The Vikings will travel to RCSJ-Cumberland on October 7 th and to Cairn University on October 14 th.  Cairn is coached by former MCCC three-sport athlete (soccer, basketball and softball) Michelle Ogborn, who also coached MCCC women’s soccer from 2011-2015.

The Vikings went 40-10 in the spring 2022 season before falling to Del Tech in the Region 19 Championship.  Mercer will be led by Head Coach Ryan Zegarski who enters his 20 th season as the Vikings Head Coach.
