In honor of National Daughters Day, which was on September 25th, MCCC Athletics want to recognize the achievements of our women’s athletic teams during the past academic year.  MCCC women’s soccer went 15-0 in the regular season in 2022, marking the first time in program history the team has had an undefeated regular season.  Softball player Bella Truelove (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) became the 11 th player in softball program history to earn NJCAA All-American honors.  The MCCC women’s tennis team competed in the NJCAA Division I National Tennis Championship in May held in Tyler, Texas.  Gwen Guidice (Hillsborough, NJ/Westfield HS), Mercedes Medart (Liege, Belgium/Atlas College Genk), Valeria Vargas (Valencia, Venezuela/Instituto Santa Cruz) and Victoria Woodruff (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) helped MCCC to a 25th place finish at the National Championship.

In 2022-2023, Mercer women’s athletic teams had a record of 57-16 and a .780 winning percentage.  Nine women athletes earned All-Region 19 honors, 4 All-GSAC (Garden State Athletic Conference) honors and two women’s athletes earned Region 19 Player of the Year honors: Truelove in softball and Lisa Schroeder (Leiferde, Germany/Sportsymnasium) in women’s soccer.

The nine athletes who earned All-Region 19 honors include Madison Bressler (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton West), Carolina Farias (Santiago, Chile/Instituto Andes), Sophia Najem (Florence, NJ/Florence Twp. Six female athletes earned NJCAA Academic All-American honors.  Rachelle Liechti (Rombach, Switzerland), Georgia Jew (Shrewsbury, UK/Shrewsbury Sixth Form), Najem (Florence, NJ/Florence Twp.
