Five MCCC Women's Tennis Players Earn All-GSAC Honors

Five MCCC women’s tennis players earned All-GSAC (Garden State Athletic Conference) honors this spring.  All-Conference honors were based on head-to-head records vs conference opponents in the regular seasons.  Three Mercer players earned 1st Team honors in Singles flights.  Two players earned 2nd Team All-GSAC honors in Singles flights and two Mercer Doubles teams were 2nd Team All-Conference.

 

Sophomores Julia Fillat Ferrer (Barcelona, Spain/Santa Ana Mataro), Aida Torrealba (San Felipe, Venezuela/U.E. Colegio) and Sarvin Salehi (Princeton, NJ) earned 1st Team All-GSAC honors in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Singles respectively.

 

Freshmen Ariadna Acosta (Barcelona, Spain/Escolapies Lluria) and Fathima Salman Al Faris (Monmouth Junction, NJ/South Brunswick) earned 2nd Team All-GSAC honors at 4th and 5th Singles respectively.  Fillat Ferrer and Torrealba were 2nd Team All-GSAC at 1st Doubles and Salehi and Acosta were 2nd Team All-GSAC at 2nd Doubles.

 

Mercer women’s tennis went 6-2 this season and finished in the top 15 at the NJCAA Division II National Championship.
