Women's Soccer Edges Essex 1-0 for Big Region Win

Mercer women’s soccer got a big Region win on October 4^th, edging rival Essex 1-0.  Sophomore Louise Stritch scored the lone goal of the game off an assist from freshman Lucia Minambres.  The goal was deemed a “birthday goal” as Stritch scored her third goal of the season on her birthday.

The win was a big one for Mercer as they enter their final regular season games and push for a top seed in the Region 19 Playoffs.  Mercer tied Essex 3-3 on September 17^th, making the win critical in order to get one of the top seeds.  Mercer will play Sussex, who is currently undefeated in the Region on Wednesday, October 8^th and Lackawanna on Saturday, October 11^th.
