Rakels, Sayer and Vincent Earn All-Region 19 Honors

 

 

 

Mercer women’s soccer had three players earn All-Region 19 honors.  Sophomore forward Charlotte Sayer (Ipswich, England/Kesgrave HS), freshman defender Rihanna Vincent (Chatsworth, NJ/Seneca) and freshman defender Hannelore Rakels (The Hague, Netherlands/DeVrye School). 

 

Vincent anchored Mercer’s defense and was a physical force on the back line for MCCC. Rakels battled through injuries this fall and key factor helping control Mercer’s backline.  Rakels and Vincent helped Mercer to ten shutouts on the season, ninth best in DII women’s soccer.  Sayer scored fifteen goals and had four assists.  Sayer had four game-winning goals and finished her two-year career with 25 collegiate goals.
