Mercer women’s basketball continues to gain national attention as they have moved into the top 25 of the NJCAA National Poll this week. The Mustangs had received votes in the National poll the previous two weeks and were ranked 22nd in the country on Monday.
Mercer is 8-2 on the season with their only two losses coming against #9 CCBC Essex and #7 ranked Harcum. MCCC will face a big test on December 16th when they host #3 ranked Union College which is 12-0 and ranked 4th in the country.
MCCC is focusing on each game with the goal of reaching the NJCAA DII National Tournament at the end of the season. Mercer has been dominant on both ends of the floor. The Mustangs are averaging 88.3 points per game, sixth best in the country. On the defensive side of the ball, MCCC is averaging 18.1 steals per game, fourth best in the nation and leads the country in opponent’s turnovers per game at 33.1
