Women's Basketball Francisco Sets MCCC Single Game Scoring Record

Freshman women’s basketball player Evangelina Francisco (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) had a historic performance in Mercer’s 101-27 win vs Westchester CC, setting Mercer’s single game scoring record with 53 points.  In the 80s, both Terry Dorner and Mary Smith scored 46 points in a game for Mercer.  In this game Francisco is also believed to have set Mercer’s single game record for three-point field goals, hitting 11 threes in the game.  Francisco shot an incredible 69% from the field and from three-point range.

Francisco is currently fifth in the country in points per game, averaging 22.7 points per game and is 12^th in points for the season with 341.  Francisco is also third in the nation in three-point field goals made with 60.  MCCC is currently 12-3 on the season and ranked 17^th in the country.
