Freshman MCCC softball pitcher Jozalyn Sheipe-Warthen (Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley) had two bug accomplishments over the past week. Sheipe-Warthen set the single season record for wins with 22. Sheipe-Warthen got her 22nd win on April 26th in a 8-0 win vs Sussex County CC.
The next big achievement for Sheipe-Warthen came this past weekend when she was named the Region 19 Tournament MVP. Sheipe-Warthen went 2-1 in the Region Tournament, pitching 22 innings in two days and helping lead Mercer to its first Region title since 2018.
Sheipe-Warthen is 24-2 this season with a 1.95 ERA and pitched 158 innings. The Vikings are 40-4 will play in the Atlantic A District championship with a chance to advance to the NJCAA Division II World Series.
